Prof. Dr. Gunnar Grün is the deputy director of Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics IBP since 2016, leading research in the department of indoor environment and building energy efficiency. He has been appointed as a professor of building physics at the Institute for acoustics and building physics IABP at the University of Stuttgart with effect from 2019. In additional is Prof. Dr. Gunnar Grün a member of German Institute for Standardization（DIN）and member of standardization Committee of Association of German Engineers (VDI), at the same time he is also the memeber of Steering Committee of Fraunhofer ”Urban-Eco Development ” innovation platform at Shanghai Jiaotong University, member of EU Smart Cities Commission and expert of Munich Smart Cities Advisory.

The main research directions of Prof. Dr. Gunnar Grün are the comfort of occupants and indoor environment, and the energy efficiency of system integrates building. During these years he has participated in many research projects of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy, and the European Commission.
