Yu Songmin
Dr. Songmin Yu is a senior researcher (tenured) and energy system modeler at the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research. His work focuses on the modeling of energy system transition, especially in the building and tertiary sectors. Besides, he is an agent-based modeler and the founder of ABM4ALL Community on GitHub, where he published the open-source framework - Melodie - for developing agent-based models in Python. Currently, he is working on multiple research and consultancy projects for the European Commission and the government of Germany, for example, European Energy and Climate Modelling Forum, New Trends in Energy Demand Modeling, Klimashutzszenarien2050, etc.
Songmin Yu received his Ph.D. of Management Science and Engineering from Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2018 with the thesis “A Study on the Carbon Emission Trading Scheme: An Agent-based Approach”. Before that, he finished his master of Management Science and Engineering in China University of Petroleum (Beijing) in 2015, and bachelor of Instrumental Science and Technology in Beihang University in 2013.
