As parliamentary group leader of the Green parliamentary group, Mr. Schwarz is a generalist in all regional political issues and speak for the Green parliamentary group in parliament and in front of the media. Through his commitment to the expansion of local public transport and environmental protection, he got to know politics directly at the grassroots level.

Andreas Schwarz has been a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg since April 12, 2011 and became the Chairman of the Greens parliamentary group since 2016. He is also a member of the Executive Committee and the committee under Article 62 of the state constitution (emergency parliament) and a member of the coalition committee and the budget commission.
